108 Devon Alliance members
visited the oldest golf club in England in the RND Alliance. The course
was in fantastic order and the conditions
were good, even though there was drizzle all day.
The scoring was the most spectacular in recent years with fantastic
scores in all of the competitions. The Am-Am event was won Nick
Tedesco (Boringdon) and Andy Clegg (Staddon) with 42 points. This
was enough
to win by 1 point from 4 different pairs.
The Pro-Am event was won with a brilliant 47 points from the Exeter
pairing of Chris Gill and Andy Rockey. They won by 1 pint from
Jason Pickard and Stuart Selway from Honiton and the Exminister
partnership
of Jon Langmead and Craig Townsend in third place of 45 points.
The Professional individual event was also fantastic scoring with
Paul Hendriksen (Churston) coming in first place with a score of
-8 44 points.
This is the same score as the course record but doesn’t count
as a course record because of Winter Rules being played. In second
place was Chris Gill with 42 points and Jon Langmead took third
prize with 40 points.
The Devon Alliance Captain Stuart Disney thanked everyone at RND
Golf Club for hosting the event, especially Club Manager Mark Evans,
Professional
Mike Wilson, the green staff and the entire bar and catering staff
at the club.
