Guest Day
Okehampton Golf Club
Thursday 22nd September 2011The Devon Alliance Guest Day was held on Thursday 22nd September 2011 at Okehampton Golf Club. There was over an inch of rain two days before the event and the course was in great condition considering the wet weather a few days before. It was fortunate that it was a nice and sunny day for all the competitors to enjoy the course.
The Guest day is a four man team event with two scores to count and it was the home team of Ashley Moon, Paul Skidmore, Barry Hodges and Graham Moysey who won the event with a fantastic score of 86 points (-14).
In second place was the Exminster team of Jon Langmead, Matt Sail, Ted Kimpton and Andy Pascoe on 84 points and in third place were Tom Hiscock and David Ewings, both of Torquay and Yelverton’s Billy Hammett and Paul Crump on 80 points.
Devon Alliance vice-Captain Dan Wood thanked Okehampton Golf Club for hosting the day, especially club secretary Beverley Lawson for starting the groups off the first tee, the greenkeeping team and the entire bar and catering team. He also thanked Ashley Moon and the Pro shop team for their assistance in organising and running of the event.
The next event is at Padbrook Park Golf Club on Thursday 6th October. This is the first Kenyon event of the season and will be followed by the AGM.
