The Mizuno Devon Alliance event at Torquay Golf Club on Thursday 29th
October had a field of 114 players. This is one of the largest entries
for the Devon Alliance for many years and is a great sign for a fantastic
season ahead! The golf course was good condition and with a sun shining,
a good scoring day was expected.
As it turned out, the standard
of play was very high. In the Pro-Am event, home Professional Tom
Hiscock and his partner M Goodrich came
in with an exceptional score of 45 points. This was 2 better than Churston’s
prolific professional Paul Hendriksen and his partner N Jackson with
43 points.
In the Am-Am event, there was an excellent score of 44 points from
the home team of M Passmore and R Corbett, who won by two points from
P Skidmore and M Hill from Okehampton.
In the Kenyon Trophy, there was a share of first place with Chris
Gill and Jon Axford, who won with a great score of 40 points. Both
Chris and Jon won by 2 shots from Barry Austin and Paul Hendriksen.
The Devon Alliance would like to thank the days sponsor Mizuno Golf
Equipment and especially Paul Jones for their support of the Devon
Alliance this season.
The Alliance Captain thanked Torquay Golf Club for hosting the event,
especially professionals Martin Ruth, Tom Hiscock and Ben Hiscock,
the Secretary Tony Fensom and the entire bar and catering staff at
the club.
The next event is at Dainton Park Golf Club on Thursday 12th November
and I look forward to seeing you all at the next event.
