Tavistock Golf Club held their annual Pro Am competition this Monday. The event, which is one of the most popular on the Devon PGA circuit was supported by thirty-nine teams from all corners of the County.
Organised by Tavistock Club Professional Dominic Rehaag, the day was a huge success, the main sponsor was again Fairway Furniture and their support has been invaluable in establishing the day as a Pro Am not to be missed.

The golf course was surprisingly dry and playing conditions were firm under foot. Many players commented that the course had almost a Links-Like feel, with running shots and careful judgement of distance very important. The greens were very quick and putted superbly. All of this led to some excellent scoring in both the Pro Individual and the Team Event.

Winning Pro on the day was Paul Hendriksen who shot a superb 66, first out at 9.00am he had the best of the day, as the wind strengthened later, he played solid all round golf, and putted well on greens that he has always liked, since his days as a top Devon County player.

In second place was Exeter`s in form Chris Gill who has, since his return from the Asian Tour, established himself as arguably Devon's top Pro. His performances in the county have been superb, and he now needs to take that form to the important tournaments next month, in the West Region.
Third prize was shared by home club Pro Dominic Rehaag and Plymouth's Nick Horrocks.
Nick has had little time to play this summer as his teaching commitments at the busy Plymouth Golf Centre keep him fully occupied, but he likes to support local events. He also brought in the third placed team.

The team event was won by Churston Assistant Dan Hendriksen and his team, Dan brother of winning Pro Paul led his players to a superb 19 under par score. All played well and contributed to the win.

Devon PGA Captain Ashley Moon (Okehampton) thanked the Tavistock club Captain and Head Pro Dominic Rehaag , for their hard work putting on the event, and looked forward to next years Pro Am.
